The IDA was set up in the form of a commercial law company under the under the company name of Industrial Development Agency, joint stock company. The owner of all shares is the State Treasury, and the voting rights at the general meeting are exercised by the Minister of the State Treasury.

The Agency is a specific organization. On the one hand it performs tasks resulting from the function of the government department, while on the other hand it performs a purely commercial activity as a commercial law company.




Conclusions as of several years of the Poland’s membership in the European Union indicate new challenges to be faced with by the Agency in the forthcoming years. The “National Strategic Reference Framework 2007-2013” (National Coherence Strategy) and the “National Development Strategy 2007-2015” create subsequent possibilities for the Agency to actively participate in the development of the Polish economy.

Effectively supporting the restructuring processes, the Agency is determined to undertake also a function of the innovative processes stimulator in the Polish economy.
